Graffiti bar to open in Kensington’s Gainsborough

Ghost Inc is branching into South Kensington with a ‘graffiti chic’ themed bar and nightclub in the Gainsborough hotel’s basement

A funky, ‘graffiti chic’ cocktail bar and nightclub is set to open in the basement of South Kensington’s Gainsborough hotel in November.

Ghost Inc will be designed not in conjunction with the grandeur of the Gainsborough, but with a luxury graffitied basement theme, incorporating an extensive and creative cocktail ‘bible’. Designer Robbie Clydesdale and several street artists have emblazoned the walls, and columns in graffiti, while heavy black leather booths dot the main floor.

 

The 150- capacity bar also features a dance floor made from a desiccated and graffitied antique table, while the black leather bar will play home to a drinks bible with over 2,000 concoctions, including an Orange Blossom and Elderflower Fizz, hanging behind it.

 

David Serlui and Sam King who together form the partnership behind Ghost Inc, plan to roll out the Ghost brand on a national scale over the next 18 months. The site at the Gainsborough will be the second for the company, following the opening of Ghost in Northampton.
