The Dalmeny Resort Hotel in St Annes, Lancashire, is to undergo a £2.5m refurbishment as part of a drive to increase leisure, corporate and events bookings.

Over the next year 80 of the sites’ 125 rooms will be redesigned, while a new Indigo Bar and Grill restaurant will be created.

The hotel will also develop a function suit and ceremony room for weddings, as well as making improvements to its spa facilities in a bid to step up its health and well being offering.

Director Samantha Lewis highlighted that investment in The Dalmeny’s emerging areas of demand was crucial to growth.

“As customer habits continue to evolve, hotels must stay in tune with trends and invest in quality to ensure we’re providing what people want,” she commented.

“As well as refurbishing our rooms and updating the bathrooms, we’ve also created new family rooms and added two more rooms with facilities for wheelchair users.

“We’re seeing an increase in wedding bookings, much of which has been due to the growing popularity of winter weddings and an upsurge in bookings from older clients. The new facilities will allow us to host up to 200 people for celebrations and corporate events, and we’re already experiencing high levels of demand.”

The new restaurant will feature a modernised a la carte menu designed by head chef Kyle de’Ath using locally sourced ingredients.

“The Carvery restaurant has served us very well for the past 30 years but we have found our clientele is looking for a more modern dining experience, and this new restaurant will be our best yet,” said Lewis.

She added that the driving force behind the investment plan was confidence in the hotels' potential.

“Our renovation project takes into consideration the varying needs of different customers and we believe in aiming high.

“We’ll celebrate our 70th year next year and our family and corporate business continues to go from strength to strength. With this investment, we hope to grow this market even further.”
