The team behind the Michelin-starred LIMA and LIMA Floral restaurants are launching a grab-and-go Peruvian deli concept in Harrods food hall.

Virgilio Martinez - chef-owner of Central restaurant in Peru - and Gabriel and Jose-Luiz Gonzalez will open LIMA deli on 1 March.

The site is set to showcase flavours reflecting the recent ‘gastronomic expansion’ of Peru and will debut the first product range from the LIMA and LIMA Floral restaurant team.

Dishes will include Peruvian specialties such as Salmon and Seabream Ceviche; Potatoes Huancaina - a traditional dish from the town of Huancayo – and Beef or Chicken Empanadas.

Gabriel Gonzalez said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Harrods and honoured to be present in such an iconic institution.

“It is a great opportunity for us to showcase our food and passion for gastronomy, adapted to a retail format."

Bruce Langlands, food director at Harrods, said: “We are extremely excited to be welcoming LIMA to the Harrods Food Hall, a fantastic addition to the diverse food scene within the store. LIMA brings something innovative to the current offering, the cuisine is unique and executed extremely well.”

Martinez is chef-owner of Central restaurant in Lima, Peru, which was ranked as the fourth best restaurant in the world last year.

He opened the first London LIMA alongside the Gonzalez brothers in 2012, with the restaurant gaining a Michelin star in its first year of opening.

The team opened their second London site - LIMA Floral - in July 2014.
