New wave of restaurants set for Battersea Power Station

The Wright Brothers and Danish pizza group Mother are among five new restaurants set to open at Battersea Power Station later this summer.

The restaurants will form part of Circus West Village, the first commercial stage of the £9bn riverside project to open this year.

Battersea be the first international site for Mother, which currently runs two pizza restaurants in Copenhagen, and the fifth London opening for The Wright Brothers.

Also joining the scheme will be Duckroad, a sister restaurant to Soho’s Ducksoup and Rawduck in London Fields, premium gin distillery Dodd’s Gin, and Australian-inspired Ben’s Canteen.

“Creating a new cultural and food quarter for London as part of the £9bn redevelopment of Battersea is an exciting challenge,” says Rob Tincknell, CEO of the Battersea Power Station Development Company.

“We are striving to deliver the best mix of independent, authentic and fun British and international operators - an extension of the existing local community, a place for people to visit, be entertained, try something new, work and live.”

Other operators confirmed to open at the development include Darwin & Wallace, Flour Power City Bakery and wine bar Vagabond.

Battersea Power Station was built in the 1930s but has stood empty since 1983. A consortium of Malaysian investors bought the site for £400m in 2012.
