English coffee house Jacob the Angel will open on 30 August, at 16½ Neal’s Yard, Seven Dials.

The 13-cover cafe, from Layo and Zoe Paskin, founders of The Palomar and The Barbary, will not take reservations, and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with take-away options.

It will be an intimate space, designed by Gundry & Ducker - the team behind Temper, Hoxton Hotel Pavillion and Voodoo Rays - with just 10 covers inside and three outside.

The menu, created by head chef Daniela Gattegno (from The Barbary, Ottolenghi, Moro and Morito), will consist of a selection of cakes, pastries, sandwiches and salads.

Breakfast items will include chia, turmeric and medjool date bircher and whipped feta, honey and walnuts on sourdough toast. Lunch options will offer butternut squash, sweet onion and sage quiche and a chicken, rose harissa, coriander and whipped feta sandwich.

There will also be a selection of sweet cakes such as tahini madeleines; passion fruit marshmallows; peanut butter blondies; and coffee and walnut cakes.

There will be limited numbers of coconut cream pies available, as the kitchen plans to make only 30 per day.

Coffee will be supplied by Square Mile Coffee Roasters, charcutierie from Cannon & Cannon, Newton & Pott for jams and pickles, Swaledale for British game and pork, and the Dusty Knuckle Bakery for bread. Cheese will be from neighbouring Neal’s Yard Dairy.
