Shikumen – the Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning Chinese restaurant – is to open its third London site later this month.

The fine dining group is set to launch an 80-cover venue at Finchley Road’s O2 shopping centre before the end of October.

It comes a year after Shikumen was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its debut Shepherds Bush site, which opened to rave reviews in 2014.

The new restaurant will feature an updated menu with four new dim sum platters, and robata grill dishes such as scallop wrapped in smoked bacon with miso herb butter.

Named after a style of Shanghai stone architecture from the 1940’s, Shikumen first launched at the Dorsett Hotel in 2014 and opened a second smaller venue in Ealing in the same year.

Critics were overwhelmingly positive about its launch, with Fay Maschler in the Evening Standard praising its ‘superb’ dumplings and Time Out dubbing its scallop siu mai a ‘revelation’.

The third Shikumen will open from 11.30am – 11pm at 255 Finchley Road, London.
