Drinkers in Manchester are about to be transported to a galaxy far, far away as a Star Wars themed bar opens its doors in the city.

Created for the ‘For The Love Of The Force’ fan convention, the bar will replicate the famous Mos Eisley Cantina complete with alien drinkers and band.

Guests will be able to enjoy the blue ‘Bantha Milk’ cocktail drunk by Luke Skywalker, made fit for earthly consumption with Vodka and food colouring.

Other cocktails include ‘Jam Jar Binks’ – a ‘murky mix’ of toffee and apple Schnapps – and ‘Wookie Juice’ made with gin and sugar syrup.

Managing director of the convention, Andy Kleek, told the Manchester Evening News that he hopes the bar will become a permanent fixture and could turn in to a full on cocktail bar if demand is high.

The Cantina could be set to mirror the success of London's Breaking Bad themed-bar ABQ - which is considering opening a permanent site after receiving over 42,000 ticket applications since July.

As well as cocktails, visitors to the Cantina can also grab a photo opportunity with a ‘dead Greedo in a booth’, famously shot first by Han Solo in the 1977 film.

Other attractions at the convention include a full size X-Wing fighter and an animatronic Jabba the Hut.

For The Love of the Force will run from 4-6 December at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Manchester.
