Starwood to launch Aloft brand in the UK at London's Excel

Aloft will make its UK debut in London

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal to open its first UK Aloft hotel at London’s Excel exhibition centre, ahead of the 2012 Olympics.

 

The 252 room hotel will be located at Excel in London’s Docklands and owned by the exhibition centre’s parent company Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC).

 

Aloft London Excel will be the brand’s UK debut and the second Aloft property in Europe following the Aloft Brussels Schuman, scheduled to open this Autumn.

 

His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, ADNEC’s chairman said: “ADNEC is committed to innovation as evidenced by our decision to partner with Starwood to introduce a new hospitality brand to the UK.

 

“Aloft London Excel will support Excel’s growing events calendar and the London Olympics by providing quality, stylish and affordable accommodation.”

 

The first Aloft opened in June 2008 in Canada and there are now more than 50 of the chain located in the United States, China, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
