Chocolate week

Brighton-based restaurant Terre à Terre has created a chocolate menu to celebrate National Chocolate Week which begins on 10 October. Sponsored by Divine Chocolate, the menu will feature a wide range including Divine Chocolate Milk bottles served with Divine mixed chocolate cookies, Chi spice Hot Choccy with fennel biscuits, and a Cheery Chocolate Collection. There will also be free samples of Divine chocolate to taste in and take away. “Chocolate Week is a heavenly opportunity for us and for our customers,” said Olivia Reid, marketing and communications manager at Terre à Terre. “Opportunities for getting involved in national campaigns don’t come every day and it’s great to tap into a new customer group, and the chocolate one is huge.” The chocolate menu will be running from 11 - 16 October.

Newlywed package

The Chester Grosvenor has launched a ‘mini moon’ package for newlyweds. The two-night Mini Moon – Fun and Relaxation package includes a three-course dinner for two in the Michelin-starred restaurant, Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, and a spa treatment each for the couple. The highlight of the package is a personal sightseeing helicopter tour giving a bird’s eye view of the beautiful northwest taking in landmarks such as Cheshire’s Castle and the Wirral coastline. Joanna Bridge, senior events coordinator, said: “The mini moon is a new way to celebrate after your big day and lots of couples are following in the footsteps of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and having just a few days away together.” The package costs £699 per person.

Bartering service

The team behind Sheffield eateries The Milestone and the Wig & Pen has started a new ‘bartering’ service in a bid to support local producers and growers. The service is being run through both establishments’ websites to encourage producers, allotment and garden growers to sell surplus vegetables, fruit, honey, poultry and more in exchange for vouchers, meals and drinks at either venue. Matt Bigland, co-owner of The Milestone and the Wig & Pen, said: “Supporting local producers is something we have always done to ensure we can continue to create menus using fresh seasonal produce. Since the online forms went live on the websites we have seen an increase in interest and we will continue to pursue this project.” Producers wishing to get involved with the scheme should visit www.the-milestone.co.uk.
