The Byron Bay-based company intends to introduce its boutique coffee house concept across the UK over the next five years, creating 1,000 jobs.
Green Cauldron, which owns as 100-acre coffee farm in the Gold Coast town, also intends to wholesale its Australian coffee beans to independent coffee shops.
Beverley Seymour, director of Green Cauldron Coffee, said: “Australians take their coffee very seriously and we are bringing this ethos to the coffee-lovers in the UK – starting with Liverpool.
“Australia has long celebrated a rich artisan cafe culture and the country leads the world in creating the perfect cup of coffee – they are obsessed by it, and we are determined to raise the espresso bar in the UK.”
Green Cauldron’s first coffee house has launched this week at Castle Street in Liverpool, complete with two coffee bars – an espresso bar and a drip bar, a brewing concept similar to filter and cafetiere.
It has launched with a mixture of local Liverpudlian and Australian staff. The company takes its corporate responsibility seriously and strives to take responsibility for its impact on society and the environment.
Consumers’ growing demand for flexibility for eating out of home has driven the coffee shop market over the past few years, with many diners choosing to switch over to more informal brunches and afternoon coffee breaks.
Earlier this month experts warned restaurants and pubs to improve their coffee service if they want to compete with the informal yet high-quality offer from coffee shops.
