Livebookings and 118 118 launch restaurant booking service

Livebookings has teamed up with information service 118 118 to launch a 24-hour restaurant selection and booking system.
As part of its move to offer ‘more than just numbers’, 118 118 will give callers information on the location of restaurants that are registered with Livebookings, menu options, prices and opening hours, as well as the option to book a table.
Zoe Dawson-Williams, product and business development director for 118 118, said the partnership offers the opportunity to turn the service’s 40,000 daily restaurant enquiries into bookings, giving more ‘convenience and choice.’
“We’re a significant new channel for restaurants, with a heavyweight marketing campaign to match,” she said. “No one has ever thought to compile the nation’s menus before, to create the world’s first menupedia – already 30,000 menus strong and growing by thousands a week. We’d therefore urge restaurants that haven’t already done so to get registered and send us your menus.”
The service is also available online at 118118.com, where users can search by location, cuisine type, dishes and alternative outlets.
