British Hospitality Association chief executive Bob Cotton has been given an honourary fellowship of the British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA) in recognition of his 'outstanding service' to the hospitality industry during his 10 years with the association.

Cotton, who will leave the BHA next year, received his award from BAHA chairman Paul Dukes at BAHA's Hospitality Finance and IT Professionals Conference and Exhibition in London last week.

BAHA chief executive Carl Weldon said Cotton had been an 'outstanding champion and ambassador for the UK hospitality profession', commending his leadership during the 2001 foot-and-mouth crisis, his work to raise the profile of the industry and his ability to present the industry's views to the media.
