Butlins hotel gets sushi bar

- Becky Paskin

butlins%20sushiIn a move toward offering guests a wider range of healthy eating options, budget holiday resort Butlins has opened the group’s first sushi bar at the Shoreline Hotel in Bognor Regis.

As a family resort, Butlins chefs, who have been trained by sushi experts, have altered the traditional Japanese cuisine slightly to appeal to a more British taste for both kids and adults alike. Some of the delicacies on the menu include Seafood Gunkan, Smoked Salmon Nigiri, and Tuna Maki Rolls.

Richard Bates, Managing Director of Butlins, said: “Families tuck into all sorts of food at home these days and naturally they want more choice when they’re here too. We’ve responded to demand for more exotic and healthy choices while on holiday.”

Butlins are confident that children will be enthusiastic towards trying something new, and to encourage them, the resort rewards kids who manage to eat their five portions of fruit and veg a day with a certificate and a badge. And to help them on their way, Butlins have also recently opened juice and smoothie bars for the summer.
