Complimentary ice-cream lessons offered to chefs
Carpigiani, the world’s largest ice-cream equipment manufacturer, are offering chefs the chance to learn how to create their own unique flavours of ice-cream during free one-day courses.
The company have launched the Carpigiani Gelato University where students can discover the world of ice-cream through a range of tastings, demonstrations and lectures.
A qualified Italian chef will teach students about what makes a good ice-cream, from ingredients to production, as well as providing useful information about market trends, innovation, storage, presentation, sales and hygiene and health regulations.
Gino Cocchi, Carpigiani’s Chief Executive, said: “Ice cream is not just one product. It provides a platform for making a huge variety of natural foods, with different ingredients and flavourings depending on people’s tastes.
Paul Ingram, Managing Director of Carpigiani UK, said: “Customers love fresh, homemade ice cream, so whether you’re a large chain or a small independent, homemade ice cream guarantees to boost your profit and offer a point of difference over your competitors. The Gelato University has been designed and developed to promote and communicate the culture of Artisan ice cream to a global audience, and aims to spread the word about how to make the best ice cream.”
Everyone, from novice to expert can attend the workshops. The one-day courses running from 10.30am to 3pm, will be held on various dates at Carpigiani UK in Hereford, the Food Bioscience Building at the University of Reading, and Glasgow Metropolitan Food College.
