Daniel%20GalmicheFrench chef Daniel Galmiche’s Eden, the fine dining restaurant at the Forbury Hotel in Reading opens its doors to diners today.

The restaurant within the five star 23-bedroom hotel is limited to 20 covers and will run alongside its brasserie-style restaurant, Cerise.

Galmiche, who joined the hotel from the Clermont Club where he was Executive Head Chef, said: “The fine dining experience at Eden celebrating the best of British produce coupled with the relaxed brasserie-style of the existing Cerise restaurant and bar and of course the designer sexiness of the hotel itself creates a place to see and be seen.”

The French chef is aiming for Michelin star status at the restaurant, set in a former council chamber. He previously gained Michelin stars at Waldo’s at Cliveden in Berkshire, Harvey’s in Briston and l’Ortolan near Reading.

The Forbury Hotel and 16 apartments in Reading opened in 2006 following a £15m redevelopment.
