Smollensky's sites sold
Kornicis Group, the owner of Jamies Bars and Henry J Bean's has rescued the remaining two Smollensky's restaurants from administrators.
The investment company owned by Nick Tamblyn and backed by NBGI Private Equity bought the sites at Canary Wharf and the Strand from BDO Stoy Hayward through Christie & Co for an undisclosed sum.
Both restaurants, part of the former Grill Group, will continue to be operated under the Smollensky's brand.
In October a branch of Smollensky's in South Croydon was sold to restaurateur and chef Malcolm John who has turned it into a fish and grill restaurant. There are still two sites - in Hammersmith and Charing Cross to be sold.
Smollensky's former owner, The Grill Group went into administration in October. It's group of North West-based French restaurants Le Frog were acquired in a management buyout by former chief executive Paul Lilley earlier this month.
