New improved Staff Canteen opens
Chefs website The Staff Canteen has returned in 2009 with a new look and improved features.
The on-line community for chefs was originally set up as a forum by ex-chefs Mark Morris and Derek Woods, but the pair have been working to expand the site to offer much more.
Through the new site, members can swap recipes, search for suppliers and relevant events, post questions or food tips and post or search for jobs.
News from BigHospitality is also available on the site through an RSS feed.
Morris said: "The original staff canteen was just a forum. What we have tried to create with the new one is a one stop shop for chefs by adding jobs, suppliers and events, but with the same access to the forums as before."
The original Staff Canteen site launched in October 2007 as a basic forum page. It has 770 registered members and receives 7,000 hits per month.
