Claudio Pulze and Franco Zanellato have sold their shares in A to Z Restaurants to majority shareholder John De Stefano, but will remain non-executive directors.

De Stefano also owns sister restaurant group London Henley Leisure, which owns a controlling interest in private members club The Cricketers Club of London, Edera in Holland Park and The Berkeley Square in Mayfair.

He plans to acquire more restaurants in central London as well as looking at sites further afield, such as Monaco and the Caribbean.

The A to Z group has an annual turnover of more than £15m and includes Zafferano in Knightsbridge, Aubergine in Chelsea and L'Oranger in St James's.

Pulze founded A to Z with Zanellato and Guiliano Lotto in 1993. He resigned in '98 and he, Zanellato and De Stefano bought seven A to Z restaurants out of administration in 2005.
