The College Restaurant of the Year (CROTY) competition assesses and rewards catering colleges around the UK on the merit of their students'
practical skills, aptitude and enthusiasm. The contest is designed to be accessible to all colleges and offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and commitment to leading industry experts.
The winner of College Restaurant of the Year 2007 will be awarded the invaluable prize of sending 15 of its students to venues across the Caprice Holdings portfolio of London restaurants: Le Caprice, The Ivy, J Sheekey, Daphne's, Bam-Bou, Rivington, Urban Caprice and Scott's.
Each student will be in the enviable position of gaining essential work experience from some of the most successful restaurants in the capital.

The North: Manchester College of Arts and Technology (Openshaw)
Scotland and Northern Ireland: Cardinal Newman High School The East: Colchester Institute Wales, The Midlands and The West: Northampton College London and The South: The London School of Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure And the search continues… In the final stage of the competition, our judging panel of members of the Craft Guild of Chefs and Restaurant magazine will make return visits to the regional winners. The judges will not only consider the set criteria of taste, flavour, refinement, technique, service and presentation, they will also interview the students and observe their performances in the kitchen during service.
The overall 2007 winner will be announced at the CROTY party on board the Naticia cruiser on the London Thames, March 13 2007.
