Clapham House Group has announced plans to raise £4.65m through a share placing, in order to increase the pace of its Gourmet Burger Kitchen roll-out on the back of promising preliminary trading results in the year ended March 31.

The trading update stated that "GBK restaurants tend to be profitable from the first month of trading" whether inside or outside Greater London. Consequently, five GBK restaurants are being built, with contracts exchanged on another seven sites for openings next year.

The company's Bombay Bicycle Club was also said to have performed well, with a new delivery kitchen being built in Surbiton and contracts exchanged on another location.
