The Food & Drink Group, which owns the Henry J Beans chain and Jamies bars, has bought seven leasehold sites from the Puzzle Pub Company, which it plans to rebrand during the course of 2007.

The group paid £1.2m for the pubs, which currently trade as Puzzle or Stone Horse pubs and are located in central London.

The Puzzle Pub Company posted sales of £3.6m in the year ended January 31 2007, with an EBITDA of £0.3m.

Food & Drink Group Chairman Stephen Thomas said, "This acquisition meets our strategic objectives and will enhance shareholder value. These are good trading sites in some excellent locations, which will enable the group to continue to deliver its growth aspirations."
