Carluccio's restaurants and food shops has announced that turnover rose by 20 per cent to £25.9million in the 26 weeks to March 25 2007.

Three new stores opened in the period (two in London, Bloomsbury and Spitalfields, and one in Manchester's Trafford Centre).

Walton-on-Thames, Kingston upon Thames and Covent Garden sites are set to open before the end of 2007, with two more sites secured at Heathrow Airport and in Bristol.

Executive Chairman Stephen Gee said, "Trading since March 25 2007 has been ahead of the previous year and in line with the board's expectations. In addition, much progress has been made since the 2006 financial year. Turnover and profit before taxation growth is in excess of 20 per cent."
