The Black Swan hotel and restaurant in Helmsley, North Yorkshire has been taken over by the people behind Seaham Hall in County Durham and The Samling in the Lake District. Simon Rhatigan, Guy Brudenell and Julian Pilling have bought the former coaching inn from MacDonalds Hotels for an undisclosed sum and plan to redecorate all of the guest rooms, public areas and bar and restaurant.

Shelley Sandzer has acted for O&H properties to secure deals for a range of well-known restaurant brands in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey.

Carluccio's, Giraffe, Nando's and Gourmet Burger Kitchen are going into the new development called The Heart.

Scotch Steak House has taken the former Garfunkel's site on London's Charing Cross Road. The 2,000 sq.ft site is split over a ground and basement floor and has been taken on a new 25- year-lease for £150,000 per annum.
