Owners of upmarket fish and chip restaurant and takeaway with a wet fish counter – The Fish Club in Wandsworth – have bought the site of rival company Sea Cow on Clapham High Street to open their second Fish Club. Steve Orme and James Thomson opened in Wandsworth in 2004 and plan to open in Clapham at the end of July/beginning of August.
Orme said there would be more space there, with 50 covers over two levels.
There is still a Sea Cow in Dulwich and in Stoke Newington, both owned by Dan and Paul Rigby. Paul said, "We decided to call time on Clapham because business was a bit patchy for us and the street was a bit saturated." The other two branches will remain open, he added.
Both sets of owners credit their time in Sydney as an influence on their concepts.
