Loch Fyne Restaurants has posted a turnover of £29m, a 17 per cent increase on the same period last year, in the financial year ended December 31.

Profits were up 23 per cent to £4.1m and like for like sales were also up for the seventh year in a row.

The company had 29 restaurants by the end of the financial year and plans to have 39 by the end of 2007. It is spending £1m on a Loch Fyne in the Newhaven Harbour Fishmarket in Leith.

Chief Executive Mark Derry said, "With an increased demand in the premium casual dining market and a growing public focus on healthy eating, provenance and sustainable supplies, Loch Fyne Restaurants is well positioned to meet these trends."

Since the year end LFR has entered into a licensing agreement with contract catering giants to cater at events such as Sandown Racecourse.
