Michelin-starred Simpsons in Edgbaston beat off stiff competition to take the top title.

The other winners were: Best Family Restaurant Cielo Best Service Bank Best Business Lunch Hotel du Vin Best Wine List Opus Best out of Town Restaurant Mallory Court Best Newcomer Asha's Rising Star Award Craig Gent from Opus Award for Outstanding Personal Contribution Eddie McIntyre, principal of Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.

The Best Service, Business Lunch, and Family Restaurant winners won by public vote via the Birmingham Post and Mail.

Other winners were chosen by a panel of judges including Neil Rami from Marketing Birmingham, Glenn Sturley from Lloyds TSB, Karren Brady from Birmingham City Football Club, Jade Koch, sommelier at Rex Whistler Restaurant at Tate Britain, and the Birmingham Mail food critic Paul Fulford.
