TV chef unable to make any comment over the future of his Michelin-starred Devon restaurant, which his wife closed down while he was on Im A Celebrity....

THE FUTURE of TV chef John Burton Race`s Michelin-starred restaurant is still unknown following his return from the jungle.

The New Angel in Dartmouth, Devon, was closed down by the 50-year-old chef`s estranged wife Kim, 42, while he was taking part in the ITV show `I`m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!`.

He bought the restaurant three years ago for £500,000, but while he was in Australia a notice appeared in the window saying: "It is with deep regret that the New Angel restaurant and rooms will cease trading."

The chef told Torquay`s Herald Express newspaper that he could not "possibly say anything at this stage" about the future of the restaurant.

The business was put up for sale earlier this year along with the six-bedroom New Angel bed and breakfast accommodation.

Staff are still unclear about the future of the restaurant, having been handed their p45`s by Kim while Burton Race was away in the jungle.
