Troubled soul food restaurant has bright future after negotiations between the owners daughter and a group of Saudi investors lead to talk of international expansion

THE ever changing fortunes of the Momma Cherri restaurant in Brighton appear to have taken a very large upward swing  despite a temporary closure in January.

The soul food restaurant, which has twice been featured on Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, looks likely to be rolled out across the UK and even internationally thanks to approaches by a Saudi investor.

Momma Cherri owner Charita Jones shut up shop earlier this year, but thanks to some deft negotiations between her daughter Katryna and administrators, it was swiftly reopened.

The problems were put down to old debts that the running profits weren’t able to cope with.

A spokesman said: "We need investors to work with Katryna and roll the business out."
