Top Line-Up for Northern Restaurant & Bar
Marcus Wareing and Sat Bains top the bill of chefs doing what they do best at the Northern Restaurant & Bar show in Manchester in April.

MARCUS Wareing and Sat Bains are leading the line up of chefs demonstrating their favourite recipes for visitors to Northern Restaurant & Bar at Manchester Central (formerly GMEX) on April 7 and 8.

Visitors are invited to sit and watch these chefs doing what they do best – create delicious dishes - which they can then recreate in their own establishments.

On Monday, April 7, Marc Wilkinson from Fraiche in Liverpool, Marcus Wareing from P»trus in London, Andrew Thompson & Ryan Simpson from Winteringham Fields in North Lincolnshire, Stephen Midgley from Grado in Manchester and Jonny Gilmore from The Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey will be taking the stage.

Tuesday, April 8, sees Ekamon Buasarn from Sapporo Teppanyaki in Manchester, Sat Bains from Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham, Dave Kennedy from Black Door in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Stephanie Moon from Rudding Park in North Yorkshire cooking up some fabulous food and Wareing giving his demonstration for the second time.

Wareing said: "This is now my third year at Northern Restaurant and Bar and I wouldn’t miss it.

"It almost feels like going home as I am greeted like an old friend; from the lecturers at my old college to the students, exhibitors and fellow chefs.

“This really does put northern cooking in the spotlight and should not be missed.”

Marcus’ new book One Perfect Ingredient is published in April and he’ll be signing copies available to buy after his demonstration each day.

The Culinary Theatre annually attracts top chefs and in the past has seen Eyck Zimmer, Stephen Smith, Andrew Nutter and Andrew Pern take the stage.

“We are delighted to provide this showcase for the region’s chefs to show how good the food is being created in the North,” said event director Andy Clayfield.

“This year’s line up is one of best yet and I am sure will prove popular with visitors”.

Complimenting the chefs’ demos will be the Fine Food Theatre where members of North West Fine Foods will be running a combination of skills demonstrations and tastings showing off some of the region’s best food.

Both timetables are available at www.northernrestaurantandbar.co.uk with full information on the exhibitors, features and all the other demonstrations taking place throughout the two days.
