Row Over Rude Receipt
A STAFFORDSHIRE restaurant waiter displayed impeccable service standards by adding “Suck my d**k f**k face” to the itemised bill for a table of diners who had complained about the service.
The employee has managed to get the restaurant, Joe Delucci’s Italian in Bird Street, Lichfield, all over the papers.
Reports by the BBC this morning explain how the diner, Clare Watkin, found the message after checking her receipt at home.
Watkin had complained after she and her nine friends waited over two hours for food.
Having been told they would receive two free bottles of wine and not pay for their desserts, she double checked the £284 bill at home and found the message printed between a glass of wine and some fish cakes.
The restaurant`s owner, Nigel Langsdon, has apologised to the group and blamed the incident on a “private joke” between staff members that mysteriously made it on to the bill – a mystery he says he is investigating.
He told the BBC, “We have apologised unreservedly to the girls concerned and said that they’re very welcome to come back and have a free meal, and we’d like them to.”
He also offered to donate the price of their bill to a local children’s hospice.
