A HOTEL in Yarmouth is set to reopen after inspectors demanded it closed to make urgent electrical repairs.
The Duke`s Head Hotel, in Yarmouth, was served with an enforcement notice to rectify 46 serious electrical faults.
Licensee Dave Smith has revealed that the hotel`s electrics had not been checked since 1972.
Nine people were forced to leave the hotel - owned by Admiral Taverns - after environmental health officers closed it down by serving the enforcement notice.
Smith said: "As I understand it, if the electrician had deemed the faults to be life-threatening, he could have turned the current off straight away.
"As soon as Admiral Taverns became aware of the situation, it pledged to get the work done immediately."
