A Wetherspoons curry chef has had his palate insured for £1million after deciding his sense of taste was too valuable to lose.

A PUB curry chef has insured his tastebuds for a cool £1 million.

Wetherspoon`s chef Sanjay Sigat got his palate insured after deciding his ability to judge what pub-goers want in a tikka or balti is too valuable to lose.

According to the Sun, the 39-year-old is employed by Authentic Food Company to test spicy dishes before they go to pub chain JD Wetherspoon.

"Sanjay`s curries are incredibly popular," a Wetherspoon spokesman told the newspaper.

"He`s a great chef so it`s no wonder he`s had his tastebuds insured."

The move means Sanjay would recieve the same sum for losing his sense of taste that Rolling Stone`s legend Kieth Richards would recieve should he lose his fingers.
