Marriott's Deal to Help the Unemployed
International hotel giant strikes deal with JobCentre Plus which will see the company aim to fill 20 per cent of its UK vacancies by offering jobs to the long-term unemployed.
INTERNATIONAL hotel chain Marriott has struck a deal with JobCentre Plus which will lead to the company offering a number of jobs to long-term unemployed workers in the UK.
The terms of the Local Employment Partnership (LEP) stipulate that Marriott shall try to fill 20 per cent of entry-level vacancies with workers sourced through the scheme, while the company has also agreed to trial periods, mentoring and pre-employment training for each staff member recruited through the LEP.
Marriott aims to roll out LEPs across its entire UK property portfolio of 55 hotels - which employ around 10,000 staff across the country.
The scheme will help the company fill roles ranging from cleaning and room attendants to catering operations.
