Embattled Laurel Pub Company closes 60 of its sites after effots to sell them brought little response. The company is facing a fight to avoid falling into administration.

THE STRUGGLING Laurel Pub Company has closed a further 60 of its pub sites after efforts to sell them brought little response.

The company that operates the Yates, Litton Tree and Hog’s Heads brands was forced to shut more than 20 pubs last month in an effort to cut losses while attempting to sell almost 100 sites.

The company is continuing to fight the increasingly likely prospect partial administration, at the very least, and hopes to continue operating both pub and restaurant divisions while keeping redundancies amongst its staff to a minimum.

A spokesman for Laurel told the M&C Report that it is “A logical but regrettable decision".
