CELEBRITY chef Jean-Christophe Novelli is to open a second gastropub in May.
The French chef is opening a "Touch of Novelli" at the French Horn in Steppingly, near Woburn, Bedfordshire. It is the second of his 10 planned gastropubs.
His first pub, the White Horse in Harpenden, opened in January 2006. A spokeswoman said that the French Horn would offer a similar concept and menu to the White Horse.
The White Horse opened offering an a la carte menu featuring some of Novelli`s signature dishes including oxtail braised with liquorice and his famous pig trotters dish.
An all-day bar menu was introduced in October and a new manin menu in January featuring seasonal classics such as potted Morecombe bay shrimps; liver and bacon, steak frites; cassoulets; sticky toffee pudding and rhubarb trifle
Jean-Christophe Novelli said of the menu: "My venture is about serving great food, great wine in a warm friendly ambience in an affordable manner. Eating out should be a way to entertain, socialise and convival."
