THE GREAT British Cheese Festival has been sold to Cardiff Council, and will now take place in one of Wales’ top tourist attractions, Cardiff Castle.
The bigger venue offers the festival the chance to expand, whilst utilising the venues events team to out on the show amidst nearly 2,000 years of history.
Britain’s biggest cheese market will showcase over 450 cheeses during the festival, which runs at the end of September, coinciding with British cheese week.
Kevin Burt, Cardiff Castle Manager, said: "We are thrilled to welcome such a prestigious national event to Cardiff Castle and look forward to it becoming firmly established in our annual calendar."
This year the festival will offer an expanded Masterclass, and cheese tossing entertainment.
