The Northern restaurant group Unchained Restaurants continues to grow with the purchase of Clovenfords country hotel

UNCHAINED Restaurants have purchased the six-room family run Clovenfords country hotel, expanding its up-and coming portfolio to four outlets.

The restaurant and hotel near Galashiels in Scotland joins the nearby Goblin Ha’ Hotel, and the first two of expanding Italian chain Tutti Tuscan Grille’s in making up the companies list of properties.

Oxton-based Unchained Restaurants purchased Clovenfords as part of its ongoing expansion, it now boasts a turnover of nearly £3 million.

Managing director Rob Reeley, said: “We’re delighted to be the new owners of the Clovenfords. We want to keep the warm and friendly atmosphere customers enjoy here, but we are planning to refurbish key areas of the hotel.

“We’re also looking forward to giving the menu a more contemporary yet traditional twist, and introducing the service standards that our customers have come to expect from our businesses”.

This takeover adds to an already successful week for Unchained Restaurants; the Goblin Ha’ having just been short-listed for the regional finals of the ‘Punch Shine Award’ for Best Drinks Experience.
