BIRMINGHAM`S Crowne Plaza Hotel is to undergo an extensive £16 million refurbishment.
The hotel, owned by Centre Island, will undergo a transformation involving a complete redesign of the hotels’ 312 bedrooms.
The company currently turnover around £30 million a year, and owns a further eight hotels in Merseyside.
The new look hotel will feature a restaurant and eight conference rooms that will be able to accommodate up to 300 people, work is expected to be completed in September.
General manager Michael Mason said he hoped the refurbishment would “put the Crowne Plaza back at the heart of the global city”.
“We are ideally located in B1 to serve the needs of the city’s local businesses and visitors to the International Convention Centre”.
