MARCO Pierre White is to open a restaurant in Douglas on the Isle of Man.
White has signed a deal with Dandara Commercial Ltd to open a franchise in Quay West, revolutionising the traditional ‘kippers and queenies’ view of the culinary scene on the island.
The restaurant will be situated in a new build, on a site previously occupied by E. B. Christian on Bridge Road.
Dandara director Joe McLoughlin said: `Dandara has exclusive rights to the Marco Pierre White restaurant franchise in the Isle of Man and Jersey.
“On a recent visit Marco was greatly impressed by the Isle of Man and is looking forward to welcoming the new restaurant into his very successful franchise group.
McLoughlin also denied that the celebrity chef would be there in name only, saying:
“It`s not just a name. As part of the franchise agreement Marco`s team will provide start-up management for the new restaurant.
“There will also be ongoing development and support for the franchisee together with celebrity appearances by Marco at regular intervals as required.”
