AWARD winning chef Robert Kisby has signed on to Manchester’s first Oriental hotel project, which is due to launch in early July.

The Yang Sing Oriental has been created on the site that was a Grade II listed cotton warehouse in the city’s Chinatown district.

Kisby previously worked at Bridgewater Hall, and Cock O’Barton in Cheshire.

Yang Sing, owned by Gerry and Harry Yeung, will offer 48 individually designed bedrooms and suites, a champagne bar, oriental lounge, spa and a private guest lounge.

Kisby said: “I was delighted to be asked by Gerry and Harry to consult on their hotel operation.”

The food on offer will fuse East and West, and contain everything from Oriental fruit compotes, hoi sin pork sausage, dim sum, falafel, antipasti, fillet steak and Cantonese style lamb curry.
