Celebrity chef Paul Merrett and British Lion Eggs are looking for the new face of eggs in their nationwide competition, the Eggs Factor.
The winner will receive a £5,000 prize, plus the chance to represent the foodstuff in the future. Entrants are required to devise an exciting egg-based dish in under 10 minutes, as well as demonstrate their ability to poach an egg.
The competition is designed to promote the speed and ease of cooking with eggs, and the judges are looking for either a chef or caterer who can convey their message.
“Eggs are a fantastic ingredient – versatile, tasty and quick to cook - for everyone from top chefs to those whose cooking skills are almost non-existent!” enthused Merrett. “The Eggs Factor competition is a great opportunity for people to get cooking and demonstrate their egg-cellent talents in the kitchen.’
Short-listed entries will be invited to take part in regional finals across the country before culminating in a cook-off during British Egg Week in October (6-12).
Apply online at www.eggrecipes.co.uk/eggsfactor before August 3 to be in with a chance of winning.
