Hotel brand Umi is branching out its internship opportunities to the people of Brighton, with the opening of its newest hotel in the area.
The brand is known for its work within the hospitality industry for youth training services, running programs and internships alongside Salford University, Thames Valley University and many other schools from around the world.
Now Umi has also formed an alliance with the University of Brighton to offer students internship placements, and an opportunity to develop their careers within a successfully growing company.
General Manager and Founder of Umi Hotels, Steve Lowy, is enthusiastic about his latest venture. “Being only 27 myself, I love working with these students and feel they benefit from the experience hugely, as well as all the permanent staff and myself learning a huge amount from them in terms of new ideas and energy,” he said.
“I am very keen to provide a place for the future of hospitality to develop,” he continued. “With the lack of key skills in the hospitality industry, it is so important to try and get young students enthusiastic and passionate about it, so not only will they stay in the industry, but improve it in the future.”
The Brighton hotel will launch on June 27, and will offer a range of services including complimentary juice upon arrival, a yumi coffee shop (launching in August), conference facilities and plasma TVs and kimonos in every room.
