Oxford opening for Oliver
Jamie’s Italian finally opens its doors for business at its first site in Oxford today

The first of Jamie Oliver’s Italian high-street restaurants opens its doors today in Oxford, with another two openings in Bath and Kingston planned for this September.

The previous Cock and Camel pub in Oxford’s town centre is the new home to the first of the simply named, Jamie’s Italian. The chain aims to provide an alternative experience to other Italian restaurants, with a relaxed and friendly ‘neighbourhood’ atmosphere serving up traditional, wholesome and rustic Italian dishes.

In contrast to his Fifteen restaurants, the food will be affordable to most families, even amidst the evil credit crunch. Pasta dishes start at £7.95, with more hearty mains ranging from £9.50 to £15.95.

Jamie’s Italian will also be appearing in Brighton and Cambridge, with openings planned for next year.

Both the Bath restaurant, sited at the newly developed Milsom Place, and the Kingston branch, taking over an office block on Kingston Hall Road, are currently recruiting for staff. Visit www.jamieoliver.com/italian for more information and to apply.
