Hospitality golfers raise £6.5k for Scottish industry
Golfers gathered to raise money for HIT Scotland’s scholarship and bursary programmes

The rain held off just long enough for 75 golfers to raise £6.5k at the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland’s annual golf day last month.

Nineteen teams participated in the competition, held at Scotland’s finest new golf course, The Carrick, to raise money for HIT Scotland’s scholarship and bursary programmes.

The winning team was Glasgow Heroes, compiled of Fergus Chambers, David Melvin and David Mechin from Glasgow City Council, and Bob Lamb from Brakes.

David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland, said: “While we raised some generous funds for HIT Scotland projects, the day was more about bringing people together. Hospitality itself was the real winner.”

Comedian Fred MacAulay, who also hosts HIT Scotland’s emerging talent conference, kept crowds and golfers entertained as he compered the event.
