The lights go on at the Gas Lamp
Scottish bar and restaurant group Gastro Taverns re-launches its Aberdeen caf? bar The Gas Lamp.

Scottish bar and restaurant group Gastro Taverns has re-launched its Aberdeen cafT bar The Gas Lamp.

The bar in the centre of the city was bought by Gastro Taverns earlier this year but continued trading as Morgan`s Bar Diner until it was ready to be launched under its new name.

Continuing Gastro Taverns` local food policy, as much as possible will be sourced from within a 40 mile radius of the restaurant.

“Our aim with The Gas Lamp is to put the fun and quality back into Aberdeen’s dining and drinking experience. And we’ll do this while supporting the local economy – by sourcing our bread from the nearest bakery and our bacon and eggs from a nearby farm. Our drinks range, cocktails and wine lists, meanwhile, will range from the simple to the downright unusual,” said Managing Director Julian Mobbs.

Other businesses owned by Gastro Taverns are The Sun Gastro Bar & Restaurant and Mammas Italian Kitchen & Bar, both in Cupar and The Flaming Kilt Scottish Grill Restaurant. The company also acquired the Quoiters pub in the village of Newtonhill, Kincardinesire last month.
