TomTom helps find hidden country pubs
Ale enthusiasts CAMRA have teamed up with TomTom to launch the Good Beer Guide 2008 on their range SatNavs.

Drivers that are sick of getting lost down country lanes trying to find a great British pub will now be able to rely on CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2008 - on their SatNav.

Designed exclusively for TomTom, the Points of Interest (POI) file will feature over 4,500 pubs that are listed in the guide, helping techies and pub-goers alike to find the perfect pub in which to enjoy the perfect pint.

Simon Hall, CAMRA Managing Editor, said: “Recent research has shown that many people prefer to spend their evenings and weekends indoors, with modern technology allowing them to shop and socialise online.

“However, this latest application for a successful piece of navigational technology will encourage users to leave the confines of their living room and enjoy and support great community pubs!”

The launch follows the collaboration of Harden’s Restaurant Guide with Roadtour to produce a SatNav guide for Garmin and Window’s compatible mobiles. Harden’s used over 3000 of its famously frank reader reviews of UK restaurants for the software that was launched last month.

The Good Beer and Pub Guide is simple to install and use, and is available from the CAMRA website for £5.
