A host of Thai restaurants will be serving their dishes al fresco next month at Greenwich Park`s first Thai Food Festival.

The Blue Elephant and Sugar Hut restaurants in Fulham will host stalls at the two-day event which starts on August 9.

Other restaurants showcasing their food to the public are Chao Praya Eat-Thai in Mayfair, Krungtep in Earls Court, Tawana in Westbourne Grove, Thailand Restaurant in Kingston and Spices in Worthing.

The festival is a spin off of the annual Thai Festival held in Battersea Park and is designed to show off the full range of food and drink from the country.

A spokesman for the festival said: "Thai food not only is affordable, but is now growing as a favoured cuisine around the world. With today’s generation being increasingly aware of their
healthcare, people have started to wake up to the healthy properties in Thai food."

Thai beer brand Chang will be hosting the Chang Beer Garden and the Siam Winery will be providing its Monsoon Valley wine. The Blue Elephant will also be selling its range of foods from its grocery line of the same name.
