German hotel group Penta is planning to open hotels in cities across the UK.
The group, which aims to appeal to both business and leisure customers, has rebranded the former Renaissance Hotel in Reading and is planning a multi-million pound refurbishment of the building this autumn.
Architect and designer Matteo Thun has been enlisted to redesign the building – Penta`s first presence in the UK - and will be responsible for giving it Penta`s trademark look and feel.
“The local corporate market remains the bread and butter of hoteliers in Reading,” said Pentahotels General Manager, Philip Cox. “However we believe that after a day of sitting in meetings, corporate clients don’t want a hotel that looks like another boardroom. We’re really excited to bring something unique to what is currently on offer.”
Penta operates 13 hotels in Germany. The Company`s ethos is to create a destination where guests can enjoy signature services and amenities in a professional, but relaxed environment.
