Indian restaurant turns Californian
Restaurateur Gordon Minnis turns Tony Singhs Roti restaurant in Edinburgh into his second Californian restaurant and wine bar.

Restaurateur Gordon Minnis has opened his second Californian restaurant in Edinburgh on the site of Tony Singh’s Indian restaurant, Roti,

Minnis’ latest venture – named Calistoga Central – includes the Californian Wine Lounge and Bar, sponsored by film director and vigneron Francis Ford Coppola.

The restaurateur’s original restaurant, Calistoga, is in St Leonard`s Street. His latest restaurant will have a similar menu inspired by food from America`s Golden State.

The building in Rose Street North Lane was known as Martins Restaurant for 20 years before it became Roti restaurant.

Singh, who sold the property to Minnis through Christie & Co, has moved his business to Morrison Street in the city.
