Two of the budget hotel sector’s top businesses are on target to pick up major cross-industry accolades, at this year’s National Business Awards.
Premier Inn and Butlins have both secured themselves a spot amongst the shortlisted entries in what Gordon Brown describes as the ‘Business Oscars’, the awards programme that highlights the success of small, large, public and private businesses from all sectors across the UK.
Premier Inn have been shortlisted for the bigmouthmedia Marketing Strategy of the Year Award, an accolade previously won by Hilton International in 2004, while Butlins are in the running to secure the Chartered Management Institute Award for Customer Focus.
Richard Bates, Managing Director of Butlins, said: "We`re extremely proud to be a finalist in the award for Customer Focus. Five years ago Butlins reviewed its customer strategy in response to guest feedback and as part of the ongoing evolution of the brand. A culture of walking in our guests` shoes is the most important focus for our team training/development and attitude today."
Industry foodservice operators Apetito and Brakes have also been nominated for awards this year, and will go head-to-head in the ICAEW Corporate Responsibility category. Apetitio however have two chances of picking up a gong, with a second nomination for the IMechE Business Innovation of the Year award.
The winners of each category will be announced at an awards ceremony held at Grosvenor House Hotel on November 18.
